(*) The VM is assigned a statis IP address. Verify that the assigned static IP address is compatible with your network. If you need to change the IP address of the VM, perform the following:
1. Startup the VM login to its VirtualBox window as root
2. Open the network settings: Application > System Tools > Settings > Network > under the Wires box, click on the grear button
3. Click on the IPv4 tab and change the IP address then click on Apply button
4. Disable and then enable the network card but switching it toggle off and on again.
5. Update the new IP address of srv1 in the /etc/hosts file

(*) To login to the database using SQL*Plus:
1. Login as root
2. Issue the following commands
su – oracle
sqlplus / as sysdba
