This pre-built VM appliance is a fresh installation of Oracle Linux 6.10 64-bit.

It was then configured to make it ready for installing Oracle products, specially Oracle Database 12c R1 or later.

The required RPM packages were installed, “oracle” user was created, firewall disabled, and Guest Additions installed.

The vm must be imported by Oracle VirtualBox release 6.1.32 or later.

Extract the downloaded zip file. You should obtain an .ova file.

In VirtualBox, click on File -> Import. Select the ova file and proceed with the import.

After importing the vm in the VirtualBox appliance, change the network settings of the vm to make the adapter type “bridged”. Make sure the Network Adapter Name matches the network adapter name in your system.

If your VirtualBox release is later than 6.1.32, then you need to update the Guest Additions in it.
